Environmental activist and actor Adrian Grenier (“Entourage”) chatted about finding “Common Ground” in sustainable living on his ranch in Texas.

‘Common Ground’ screening and panel discussion

On March 13, Grenier will be a part of a “Common Ground” screening and panel discussion at Distribution Hall in Austin, Texas. “I am looking forward to it,” he admitted.

This event is co-hosted by Finian Makepeace and Ryland Englehart of the nonprofit organization Kiss the Ground, as well as filmmakers Josh and Rebecca Tickell of the documentary films “Common Ground” and “Kiss the Ground.” They will be joined by Sayuri Yamanaka as well as Tina and Orion Weldon.

“Finian and Ryland are awesome,” he exclaimed. “I’ve been friends with them for a while and I am a big fan of their work. They inspired me to get my own farm.”

Filmmakers Josh and Rebecca Tickell

Grenier went on to praise Josh and Rebecca Tickell, who wrote and directed “Common Ground,” for being “great filmmakers.” “I love them,” he said. “I love that ‘Common Ground’ is such a wonderful film and it is inspiring so many people towards a regenerative mindset.”

“I think it’s a multi-tiered solution matrix with creating healthier foods for humans so that they can be healthier and more powerful. It’s about creating better yields for our farmers so that they can have a better business model. It is multi-tiered,” he acknowledged.

“With ‘Common Ground,’ I hope people get excited with the solutions that are ahead, and align themselves with positive change for a healthier human and a healthier planet,” he said.

Future plans

Regarding his future plans, Grenier remarked, “I am still learning how to do this Land Stewardship Project. We just broke ground on a quarter of an acre of food plot so we can grow some food ourselves that is no-till regenerative, of course. I’m fully in it, and I’m dirty everyday.”

The digital age

On being a part of the digital age, Grenier said, “It is certainly intriguing, if not a little bit harrowing. We don’t know what’s next. I am just really trying to make sense with it.”

“I do think balancing the digital world with the real world (in real life) in the dirt is important,” he said.

Stage of his life

On the title of the current chapter of his life, Grenier said, “Earth Speed.” It is a nature-based lifestyle platform.

“Also, I have a son and he is inspiring my next, long plan,” he said.

Created by Grenier, “Earth Speed” is a series about his quest to evolve his relationship with nature and highlight those are doing the same. He defines “Earth Speed” as “a lifestyle in the cadence of nature,” with episodes ranging from ‘permaculture blitzes’ to ‘sacred hunting’ and ‘communitas.’

In this documentary series, viewers will follow Grenier as he learns from fellow nature advocates, founders, and friends who can change the world for the better.

“Over the past few years, there has been a tremendous amount of growth, evolution, and change,” he admitted. “Love, family, animals, and babies.”

Advice for young and aspiring actors

For young and aspiring actors, he said, “I think more and more acting is a thing of the past. Now, it’s really about being authentically yourself as possible, and communicating something that is deeper and more important than just entertainment or escape.”

“People want something real and meaningful,” he added.

Career-defining moments

On his career-defining moments, he shared, “Aside from ‘Entourage,’ what has defined me is my ability to continue to remain independent and do things outside the system even though I have been able to play in big ways within the industry.”

Kevin Connolly

Speaking of “Entourage,” he had great words about Kevin Connolly. “Kevin Connolly is such a good dude,” he exclaimed. “I’ve been so blessed to have the whole crew as part of my family.”

Favorite motto to live by

His favorite motto to live by is the following quote by the late American author Hunter S. Thompson: “A man who procrastinates in his choosing will inevitably have his choice made for him by circumstance.”

Success

On his definition of the word success, Grenier said, “Success is feeling completely authentic in yourself.”

For his fans, he said, “It’s not a movement until it moves itself. Thanks for moving this along with me.”
